A true, drop-in kit with nice Titanium needles and stainless steel allen screws. Boosts power a bit at top when the best main is installed, or 2-3 true hp everywhere, improves throttle response everywhere and improves wheelie ability. Our KTM 950 kits provide the ability to finer tune for different altitudes, bike individuality, airbox mods, engine mods, pipes and quiet inserts with a large range of main jets from #158 to #182.
One of the features of this kit is that it was developed at true sea level, on the shores of San Francisco Bay and tested up to 2500 ft on the roads winding up to the peak of the “Sleeping Lady”, Mt. Tamalpais.
This kit was tested with stock exhaust (better throttle response even with the nice, quiet stock exhaust) and Akrapovic exhaust, both with and without the Akra “restrictor” -
The KTM 950 is a sweet running engine – but – you should feel how much better a 950 runs when the ports a re cleaned up!
No slide drilling.
It seems that some original bikes may have come with differing main jets sizes – For example – our “stock” bike “came with” 158fr/162rr main jets, though, reports from the field say that most bikes have 155fr/160rr main jets when stock.
The SM model is coming with the same jetting as the late Adventure (July 2006)
Each bike is different and will require slightly different settings to be optimal.
